Advance booking for Suriya’s Kanguva has begun to gain momentum. Now, the period action drama which also features Bobby Deol as an antagonist has managed to hit a total of 1.58 crore through advance booking for day 1 in India. This number does not take into account blocked seats.
The film has reached an overall gross collection of $133,484 in the USA. This figure is closing in one Suriya’s largest USA premiere gross collection until date held by 24 which $157,509 on its premiere day at the USA.
ET, Suriya last film at the box office. Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which was released in 2022 had an opening day advance booking of 4.35 in India only and the film managed to decently collect at the box office. On the other hand, Kanguva’s advance collection is more than double than ET as it secured 568% higher amount.
Advance bookings on opening day in Telangana reached to 21 lakh followed by Andhra Pradesh & kerala. In terms of advance ticket sales on BMS, sales are gaining momentum for the film at 5460 tickets per hour. As of 5 PM, its total tickets sold touched nearly 45K on BMS. In the USA, ET had a gross collection of $19,966 on opening day.
